History of the Whoodle

One of our most heard requests is for a hypoallergenic and nonshedding puppy in a small package perfect for city living. With much thought and deliberation, we have added Whoodles to our line up.

While there is very little known history of who first started the cross, or why, we thought we would share our history with them and why they are now a part of our lives. Whoodles, or Wheatendoodles, are a cross between a Wheaten Terrier and a Poodle. We choose to use a Moyen sized poodle male for our whoodle litters to keep the size down to a manageable 30-35 pounds. They have all the fun and quirkiness we love in a smaller package. These puppies are active, smart and friendly companions that adapt well to city living and family lifestyle.

Our standard doodles are very well loved but they can not always be guaranteed to be hypoallergenic when one of the parent breeds is not known to be hypoallergenic.

The soft, fluffy coats of a Whoodle are one of the softest textures you can imagine. I'm surprised they don't make yarn out of these guys! They are a delight to the senses! They are also very unlikely to induce an allergic reaction in allergy sufferers. Everybodies allergy response is different, and can even be different on different days of the year, but we have had huge success placing these puppies in homes where people have tried other doodle crosses without success.

Some do have an independent nature and can be very smart! They are people oriented but not adverse to time alone. They love to have a job to keep their active minds busy. We have enjoyed the addition of these guys to our family and I hope you do as well!
